"Songs of a Sojourner" is an album consisting of World Premiere recordings of new works for Trumpet. The idea for this project was birthed while Joshua was pursuing his doctorate at Michigan State University. As a part of his dissertation, Joshua commissioned James Stephenson to write a new concerto for piccolo trumpet and wind ensemble. This commission sparked ideas for other new works which were written by Elliott Bark, Nicole Piunno, and Justin Rito.
